RBF Releases Banknote Denominations with New Signature

The Reserve Bank of Fiji, today, announced the release of the current 2007 design series $2, $5 and $10 banknotes bearing the signature of the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji, Mr. Barry Whiteside. The notes will be released into circulation from 5 December, 2011. Governor Whiteside’s signature replaces the signature of the former Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji, Mr. Savenaca Narube.
The title under the signature reads ‘Acting Governor’ as the present Governor, Mr. Whiteside was acting as the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji when these banknote denominations were reordered and printed.
Other banknote denominations of $20, $50 and $100 will continue to bear the signature of the former Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji, Mr. Savenaca Narube until the introduction of the new series banknotes in 2012.
